Smoothies are an excellent way to cool down on a hot day or to serve for a Sunday brunch. The other day I realized that I was out of juice or milk and had to get creative! Luckily I had some Riesling leftover from the night before that I could use in their place!
The flavors in the apricots, lemon juice, and pineapple will compliment the flavors of Riesling. Pair with our turkey tacos or a light appetizer.
Strawberry Riesling Smoothie
- 8 oz Riesling
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 c frozen yogurt
- 1 banana
- 1 c pineapple chunks
- 1 apricot
- 1/2 c strawberries, hulled
- 1/2 c raspberries
In a blender add Riesling, lemon juice, and frozen yogurt followed by remaining fruit ingredients. Blend until smooth. Poor into glasses and top with a slice of apricot or strawberry.
Substitutions and Tips
- Substitute 8 oz milk or juice instead of Riesling for a delicious non-alcohol version of this recipe.
- Pear or apple juice will compliment the flavors and aromas of Riesling but try lemonade on a hot day!
