Murphy-Goode Homefront Red

The Vineyard

Murphy-Goode Vineyard is located in Sonoma County in California. Founded by three friends, Tim Murphy, Dale Goode and Dave Ready, the vineyard now produces their own vintages and world-class Bordeaux varieties from the Alexander Valley.

Their vineyard sounds like a fun time and definitely on our list of places to visit when we head to San Fransisco this Spring.

Bonus Points:

  • Their winemaker grew up in Minnesota (Cheers to the Midwest!)
  • They have a Grill Sergeant at their vineyard - wine + bbq, count us in!
  • Their Mac n' Cheese recipe

The Wine

Homefront Red is a blend of mainly Zinfandel, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot. This wine is a medium-bodied blend full of fruit flavors and aromas such as cherries and raspberries. Soft tannins and a lower alcohol content than some blends, this red offers a smooth finish. Pairs well with a good burger or BBQ.

Why We Love It

  • We love blends, pretty much all of them
  • Made in the USA
  • The flavor
  • The price ($14)
  • The cause
