Kudus v.2013 Pinot Noir

4.0 out of 5.0

This wine came highly recommended by the awesome Russian lady who works at my local liquor store. I said that I wanted a Pinot Noir that had a lot of red fruit aromas and flavors and she was spot on. This medium-bodied Pinot Noir had a very distinct cherry flavor, which paired well with our cherry glazed ham (this recipe will be up soon and is to die for).

Origin: Willamette Valley, Oregon

Type: Pinot Noir

Alcohol: 13.1%

Price: $14

What's with the "v." before the year? More on that later but it basically means that a certain percentage of the grapes used to make this wine were from 2013, which could suggest an excellent crop for that year. Willamette Valley experiences some cold weather and therefore the year may play a more significant role than if the wine were developed in a warmer climate.

Definitely a great wine to share with some friends!
