Tips for Hosting a Party on a Budget

Needing to host a holiday party this year? Budget constraints? Check out these tips for hosting a reasonably priced party:

1) Utilize discount wine stores instead of traditional liquor stores. Stores like Trader Joes and Total Wine offer more reasonably priced options. Grab a few bottles of Trader Joes' $2.99 Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot and make sangria or a mulled wine. These extra additions will improve the wine and add a holiday spirit.

2) Go to dollar stores for cheap party supplies. Stock up on plates, cups, and décor. Make your own pom-poms with tissue paper.

3) Reuse those empty wine bottles. Grab some gold, black, or chalk spray paint to make festive candle holders or vases.

4) Set a theme such as a dip party or appetizer only party. Ask guests to bring a themed dish to pass. Setting a theme will encourage guests to participate and is a great way to share new recipes.
